Brake Repair & Service

Brakes work by applying friction to moving parts. They must apply thousands of cumulative pounds of force to stop a car during every single trip around town. It is no wonder, then, that they wear out over time and require service. How long your brakes last is based on various factors such as driving conditions, how you brake, and other factors. Regardless, it is important to inspect and service your brakes regularly. We are familiar with the driving conditions here in Marlton and know that your brakes need care. We have family, too, and understand the importance of keeping your family safe. This is why we provide a free brake inspection with every service to make sure that any problem is taken care of before it becomes a major concern.

Preventive Maintenance

The best way to avoid serious breakdowns and the higher costs associated with automotive repair is by doing routine maintenance. Preventive vehicle maintenance is defined as the actions recommended by the vehicle manufacturer to keep it running and on the road. Our expert, ASE certified technicians know precisely what maintenance is recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle. Whether you have a car or truck, we provide the maintenance services to keep it running well.

Check Engine Light Service

The Check Engine light or Service Engine Soon Light may come on for a variety of reasons. Many times it is related to an emission control malfunction. Your vehicle’s engine is constantly monitored by a computer to make sure the vehicle is running as designed. When it detects a problem, it automatically illuminates the check engine light as a warning that something is not quite right and that your car needs to be serviced. By bringing your vehicle in as soon as possible to be diagnosed, you can help avoid costly repairs. Our factory trained and certified technicians have all of the equipment, skills, and knowledge to diagnose engine problems quickly and get your vehicle back on the road in no time.

Car Battery: The Power You Need

Need a new battery for your car, truck or van? We have plenty to choose from here at Quality Auto Repair, but you may be wondering which type to buy. Here are three things to consider when choosing a car battery replacement:

  1. Temperatures: In this part of the country our winters can get pretty cold, so you may want to choose a battery with lots of CCA, or Cold Cranking Amps. The CCA represents the number of amps the battery can produce for 30 seconds at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The higher the CCA, the greater the battery’s ability to crank over your engine. Another rating, the Reserve Capacity (RC), represents the number of minutes the battery can deliver 25 amps while maintaining a voltage above 10.5 volts. Check your owner’s manual for the recommended CCAs and RC.

  2. Size: How big is your current battery? Your new battery will need to fit in the same tray, so make sure it’s not too wide or deep.

  3. Warranty: We feature the highest quality battery in the industry from AAA. They come with a 72 Month Warranty and a 3 Year free replacement. We also offer free testing and Installation to all AAA Members. (Most Batteries)

Still not sure which battery is right? Our car battery service advisors and technicians can help you select the best battery for your vehicle.

Cooling System Maintenance

Stay Warm or Cool. Your Choice.

Your vehicle’s cooling system is extremely important. It’s what regulates the temperature in your engine and protects it from overheating, damage and breakdowns. The cooling system also keeps your engine from freezing during the winter months.

One of the most common causes of car problems and breakdowns is cooling system failure. A failure in the cooling system can cause severe engine damage. Problems can stem from low coolant levels, old coolant, or leaks. Fortunately, it’s easy to prevent problems by having your cooling system checked and maintenanced regularly. You should have your coolant flushed and refilled as often as your vehicle’s manufacturer recommends. Intervals typically range from 2 to 3 years, depending on the type of coolant and vehicle. Remember, every time you bring your vehicle into a Quality Auto Repair, we will inspect the condition and level of your coolant, as part of our customary 49-point inspection.

Transmission Flush

If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, it requires transmission fluid to operate properly. That fluid, also known as ATF, prevents the transmission from running too hot, especially when you’re towing a trailer, climbing steep hills, and operating the vehicle under other severe driving conditions. (If you put your car or truck through more stress than is normal, we recommend having the vehicle inspected and serviced to prevent the transmission from overheating.)

Like any other automotive fluid, transmission fluid will break down and become less effective as it ages. However, unlike engine oil, transmission fluid must be flushed from your vehicle using a specially designed machine. Have us check your fluid every 30,000 miles.
